quy tắc 5s là một quan niệm phổ biến cho rằng thực phẩm rơi trên sàn chỉ trong vòng 5 giây vẫn an toàn để ăn.

The 5-second rule is a popular belief (quan niệm phổ biến) that if you drop (làm rớt) food on the floor (sàn nhà), it's still safe (an toàn) to eat if you pick it up (nhặt lên) within 5 seconds.

However, there is no scientific evidence (bằng chứng khoa học) to support (chứng minh) this rule. In fact, bacteria (vi khuẩn) can transfer to food almost instantly (tức thì) upon contact (tiếp xúc) with a contaminated surface (bề mặt bẩn). So, it's generally recommended (được khuyến cáo) to discard (vứt bỏ) any food that has come into contact with a dirty surface.
